Syfy released a new trailer for Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens. Still reading? Good. Then you’re one of those people. Either you’re a person that can’t look away from the train wreck that are the has-beens and b-list celebrities who do SyFy movies, or you’re someone who likes flying shark disasters. Either way you’re our type. Sit yourself down and take a look.

We’re not sure why Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens has to point out it’s the fourth one by mentioning it twice in the title, but we do know it’s set in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, what happens in Vegas this time doesn’t stay in Vegas. Instead it comes to SyFy for us to see.

That's the money shot right there.

The male stripper is sure to peak the ladies’ interest in the franchise. A franchise that Ian Ziering built. He is back along with a cast that includes David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey and Cheryl Tiegs. Tara Reid is also returning to reveal the outcome of the #AprilLives or #AprilDies social media campaign, which is apparently a thing. SyFy also has a list of guest stars, which includes Dog the Bounty Hunter, Dr. Drew Pinsky, David Faustino, Wayne Newton and Stacey Dash as the Mayor of Chicago.

What’s the Mayor of Chicago doing in Vegas? The synopsis from SyFy doesn’t say:

Sharknado 4 will take place five years after the East Coast was ravaged in Sharknado 3. Fin, his family and the cosmos have been blissfully sharknado-free in the intervening years, but now sharks – and ‘nados! – are being whipped up in places (and ways) that are completely unexpected…

Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens premieres July 31 at 8/7c on Syfy. We suggest everyone who can stomach it, watch to make sure there’s enough interest to generate a Sharknado 5.

Sharknado 4

Who are we kidding. There’s no way there isn’t a fifth installment already in the works with number ‘5’ being used for a letter ‘S’ in the title. Oh wait, The 4th Awakens? We get it now. It is like Star Wars: The Force Awakens. How clever.
