News is pouring out of CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week and the latest concerns Avengers: Infinity War. While promotion for Captain America: Civil War, which has its world premiere today in Los Angeles, is in full swing, the Russo Brothers are already working on the structure for Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2.

According to ScreenRant, Anthony Russo has divulged that the films will be so jampacked with people and events they’re likely to be broken down into a collection of vingnettes:

“Oh, yeah! I mean, it has to. It’s a culmination of everything that’s occurred in the Marvel Universe up to the point where the Marvel Universe is released. Some of those films haven’t even hit yet. We’re going to be dealing with some of the characters from those movies who are going to be in Infinity War. They’re massive in scope and scale but that’s the point. The point is for them to be as ambitious as they possibly can be. They’re going to be multi-perspective films.

They’re not called Captain America: Infinity War, they’re called Infinity War. You’re going to be moving around through different perspectives of the characters. It’s like Nashville for super heroes. It’s storytelling that is vignetted storytelling. It’s to composite all of them under one story – everybody. You can culminate without all of them, so…”

Everyone?  So just what does ‘everyone’ mean?

everyone, the professional, gary oldman

We’re talking Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Loki, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot…and Odin only knows who else. And they’ll all be working for or against one guy:

josh brolin, goonies

Except, you know, much older and in a lot of makeup, prostethetics and CGI. For those that don’t know, the biggest bad in the MCU is going to be Thanos, the Mad Titan, brought to life by Josh Brolin. During an interview in January, Brolin gushed about how pumped he was to be taking on not only the ultra-villainous role, but the whole MCU cast as well.

What remains to be seen is if the characters from the multiple successful Marvel TV shows will be included such as Jessica Jones, Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Marvel’s Most Wanted and Cloak and Dagger. So far they’ve been left out of the cinematic fray, but that could definitely change. The Russos have claimed there will be no less than 67 characters included in Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is set for release May 4, 2018, followed by Part 2 on May 3, 2019. Meanwhile, catch the latest MCU film, Captain America: Civil War, when it hits theaters May 6.
