Now that filming has wrapped on Avengers: Infinity War, production is well underway on the sequel to that Marvel Studios behemoth, the size of which was hinted at during the Comic-Con panel footage.

Now Atlanta Filming have shared the following New York City based set photo, which appears to depict Tokyo, Japan, as extras walk a street filled with Far East iconography. Rumours had been around for a while now that The Avengers would head to The Land of the Rising Sun, and these latest pics appear to confirm that.

New AVENGERS 4 set photos show a unique and colorful outdoor Japan set!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t averse to globetrotting in order to establish wonderful locales against which to paint their action heroics. Black Panther filmed in Busan, whilst parts of Avengers: Infinity War were shot in Edinburgh, Scotland.

It’s not much to go on, but titbits such as this are what we’re going to have to feed on over the next few weeks, with co-director Joe Russo confirming that anyone outside of Hall H won’t get to see the Comic-Con teaser.

The films will bring together the characters we’ve been introduced to over the course of sixteen films in order to finally take on Josh Brolin’s bejewelled glove wearing, purple headed Thanos.

Starring (deep breath) Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Benicio del Toro, Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Paul Rudd, and Don Cheadle.

Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on May 4, 2018 while Avengers 4 is slated for May 3, 2019
