During Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night, a new clip from Captain America: Civil War premiered. The video, brought on while #TeamCap was visiting the show to promote the film, treats us to the moment Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is delivered by Hawkeye/Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and meets #TeamCap leader, Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), onscreen.
It’s okay, Scott. We’d be the same way if we met Captain America.
Ant-Man is one of Marvel’s newest onscreen heroes, debuting only last summer in his first solo film. This time around he’s joining Captain America’s team, presumably more out of default than anything else. In Ant-Man he tangled with Falcon/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), but it looks like that hatchet will likely be buried quickly. Charming as he is, it’s hard to imagine anyone can stay mad at him for very long.
Judging by early reactions to last week’s press screening, critics were very impressed with Rudd’s performance in the film. Rudd, Mackie and Evans were joined on the show by fellow teammate Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes).
Tuesday night’s airing of Jimmy Kimmel Live will feature Clark Gregg of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and Benedict Cumberbatch, star of the upcoming and highly-anticipated Doctor Strange. Oh and he’s also bringing the first trailer of said film with him.
On Wednesday night you can see #TeamIronMan take Kimmel’s stage when Robert Downey, Jr., Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, Paul Bettany and Chadwick Boseman stop by, likely with yet another exclusive clip from the film.
As if this wasn’t enough, T̶h̶u̶r̶s̶d̶a̶y̶ Thorsday brings Chris Hemsworth promoting his new film The Huntsman: Winter’s War, though he’s also expected to discuss Thor: Ragnarok to some degree, which begins filming in June.
What? No Hulk? Couldn’t invent a reason to schedule Mark Ruffalo for Friday to make it all even? Guess we’ll have to wait till next time to get our Ruffalo fix.
Captain America: Civil War is in theaters May 6. Later this year, Doctor Strange premiers November 3, and Thor: Ragnarok lands November 3, 2017.
