Scott Lang to the rescue!
Except for those living under a rock for the last several months, many are eagerly awaiting the next Marvel installment, Captain America: Civil War, which kicks off Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The third Cap film sees two of the MCU’s most prominent heroes fight each other in what can only be described as the biggest fight between superheroes yet. (We considered Batman v. Superman for a few seconds there, but shhhhh…)
Marvel has released two more posters leading up to the premiere of the film. So far, marketing with Ant-Man has been scarce. Aside from a clip where Scott Lang meets Steve Rogers, he has remained fairly absent in the promotional material.
That is, until now. Marvel must have taken a few ideas from Internet fans, jokingly suggesting Ant-Man actually appeared in all the footage but was just too small to see. Here he is, in all his pint-sized glory. Well played, Marvel.
Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
Set for release in the U.S. on May 6, Civil War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film returns Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd.
What do you think of the poster? Will you be seeing Civil War in theaters? Sound off in the comments below.
