All the world is a-buzz with news that Tom Hiddleston is indeed in advanced discussions to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Rumors of Craig’s departure have been swirling for some time now, and subsequently, so have names of his possible successor. Candidates, whether valid or not, have included Tom Hardy, Idris Elba and most recently, Gillian Anderson.

However Hiddleston’s has been the most prominent of late, with good cause. He’s dashing, British, articulate and well-loved. Is all that enough to take on such a time-honored mantle? Let’s weigh the pros and cons.
