Do a quick Google search and you’ll see a number of articles from 2013-2014 singing Arrow’s praises. Fast forward a year and a half and you’ll be hard-pressed not to find an article lamenting its failures. The missteps of Seasons 3 and 4 are well known, even among those who don’t keep up with The CW’s superhero line-up. As Season 4 wound to a close, the producers and actors began promising a return to form in Season 5. Thankfully, the first nine episodes have shown fans a different Arrow — one paying homage to its roots and embracing what it does best. Here are six ways in which Season 5 has helped the show regain its former glory, thus far.
