During last night’s Talking Dead wrap up of AMC‘s The Walking Dead, it was announced that fans can take part in a new TWD experience. Since it’s a TV show, loosely based on a comic book with video game tie-ins, the logical next step to drain the wallets of the fanbase would be the most American of all merchandizing ploys — the theme park ride.

To be fair, from the preview, this looks to be less of ride and more of middle America’s favorite Fall guilty pleasure, the haunted house. If you can’t get enough of being scared by both animatronic zombies and off-duty carnival workers dressed as zombies, head to Los Angeles and wait in line for several hours with thousands of others. The new attraction is year round and while there you may see several vague references to the hit show. References such as “WOLVES NOT FAR” being sprayed in loving detail on the attraction’s walls, as pictured below.

Details like this are sure to make it worth the price, thanks to Universal Stuidos Hollywood’s collaboration with Greg Nicotero, the show’s director/producer, and his special effects team, KNB Efx.

Will this attraction be another hit like Wizarding World of Harry Potter or more like Twister…Ride it Out? Fans can decide this summer.
